Charlotte's Fusible Web

This fantastic fusible web by Charlotte Warr Andersen has 115 yards per spool. Great for binding and appliqué.

Bobbin use directions - Wind bobbin as usual. use a fine thread such as MonoPoly or The Bottom Line in the needle.

Needle use directions - Use a topstitch 100/16 needle. Loosen upper tension until stitch is even. Avoid last thread guide before needle.

Fusing directions - Use hottest iron temperature setting suitable for fabric being fused. Apply iron for 10 seconds. Allow fabric to cool before handling.

Superior MonoPoly

Monofilament thread, often called clear or invisible thread, is used to show off the quilting but not the thread. Most monofilament thread is made of nylon, not polyester, and is the same substance used in fishing line.

Superior MonoPoly is made of polyester, not nylon. The advantages of polyester monofilament are numerous:

  • Polyester has a much higher heat resistance than nylon.

  • Polyester monofilament does not go brittle over time.

  • Polyester monofilament does not discolor or "yellow" over time.

  • Polyester is softer and more pliable than nylon, meaning it will lie better on and in the fabric.

Superior Dissolve Stabilizer

Dissolve is a premium quality water soluble stabilizer. The twenty-micron thickness and quality construction ensures that it dissolves cleanly and rapidly.  Dissolve is available on both rolls and in folded packs.



Superior Dissolve 4 X

Heavy Duty Water Soluble Stabilizer. This product is similar to Dissolve. Although Dissolve-4x is thicker and more durable than Dissolve, it still dissolves quickly in cold water.

Thread Stand

Traditional machine spools cannot hold as much thread as cones or plastic king spools so the trend of the future is larger thread spool sizes.   Much of the cost of a spool of thread is in the winding process so the larger the spool, the greater the savings. If you use a cone shaped spool, it won't fit on the standard spool pin holders on most machines.  The thread stand is preferred because it stabilizes the thread and elevates it higher than the machine. The vertical arm of the thread stand lifts the thread higher than the machine which then facilitates an even feed without added tension.

Thread stands can accommodate any type of thread which is wound on a cone. The thread on these spools is cross-wound, and is meant to pull off over the top as the spool sits flat on the thread stand.  Heavy weight base for stability.
