Turtles are symbols of good luck and long life in many cultures. In Hawaii they are considered family protectors and the embodiment of ancestors called ‘aumakua.
The wave pattern is a traditional Japanese Kamon design. The waves are easily machine appliquéd or can be hand appliquéd. Hand Sashiko outlines the waves.
Pattern includes design transfer instructions, selecting fabrics, appliqué, and Sashiko and finishing techniques.
Skill Level: Beginning to intermediate.

SARAL TRANSFER PAPER - $11.25

Saral Wax Free Transfer Paper, also known as graphite paper, is a specialized transfer paper that works like carbon paper to transfer a design from one surface to another. It produces waxless, greaseless, clean tracings that lay lightly on the tracing surface and are easy to erase. Economical, it can be used again and again. Saral can be washed out of fabrics and a hot iron WILL NOT set the transfer lines. The transfer lines can be painted or inked over with no skipping or bleeding.

Each roll contains 12 ft (366 cm) of paper measuring 12½" (318 mm) in width.

Blue — non-photographic, for bright blue line on white or dark fabrics, and tole painting.

White — for dark fabrics and surfaces.

This waxless, greaseless, transfer paper works like carbon paper to transfer your designs onto fabric.

Available in an 18" x 36" sheet so there's less waste and no need to try taping smaller sheets together on larger projects. Washes out with soapy water.

Choose from graphite for light colored fabrics or white for dark fabrics.
