APRIL CLASS SCHEDULE

 
We’re now offering some of our classes free of charge! 
You will still need to pre-register for the classes whether it is a paid or free class.
There is no refund on paid classes unless we receive your cancellation at least 3 days prior to class.

We will require a minimum of 4 people registered for the class to be a
 “go ahead” so grab some friends and come join the fun!

Sheila DeRose has a passion for Japanese fabrics and has designed this wonderful quilt using quilt blocks featuring traditional Japanese symbols and Sashiko quilting around the center medallion.

You’ll need your Oriental fabric stash for the blocks and a focal piece for the center and borders. 

Most importantly you’ll learn the construction and the philosophy of piecing and creating the design blocks using Oriental print fabrics.

Total Class Fee:  $75.00 – materials list provided.

Patchwork Stars

 

 
 

Saturday, April 5, 2008 — 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

In this class, students will learn how to stitch an all over temari design. Based on a familiar quilt block, the Patchwork Star will delight you with it’s easy yet puzzling makeup.

CLASS OBJECTIVES

Gain a better understanding of the importance of accurate divisions on an all over ball, practice making stitches and rows the same, learn the value of stitching with double thread under certain circumstances, stitch the Patchwork Star design, and celebrate your graduation from the Intermediate class series!

PREREQUISITE: Students should have the ability to divide a base into a combination-8 (C-8) and skill in basic temari stitches and techniques.

FOLDED FABRIC FLOWER
TABLE RUNNER


 

Friday, April 11 – 10:00 a.m. - Noon

If you like Origami you will like this little table runner because it is full of folded fabric flowers from Rebecca Wats book, Fantastic Fabric Folding (the book is necessary for class). Make the 20 flowers needed for this runner or make a bunch more and have a real big garden of flowers.

BENTO BOX

Saturday, April 12– 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The Bento Box is a sophisticated but simple-to-make wall quilt or throw. Easy enough for beginning quilters, it provides intermediate and advanced quilters infinite possibilities for color play as you learn to work with light and dark color combinations and easy piecing techniques.  A great way to showcase a collection of elegant Asian fabrics, bright bold novelty fabrics or batiks.  grab your favorite fat quarters and make this fun quilt.  Finished size is 45" x 45".

Want to add some glitz to your quilts or garments?  Come learn how to use fabric foil.  Carol will show you how to put your design on fabric to add that special artistic touch.

Two great beginning sewing projects – a pair of pillow cases and a cute little court jester bag – perfect to hold a little treasure for gift giving.

If you don’t have much experience sewing and need to get to know your sewing machine, this is the class for you.

Carol’s at it again – if you took her first Folded Fabric Flower Class, you’ll love this one.   Carol will teach you several new flower designs, with tips and tricks for designing and embellishing with beads.  Add some silk ribbon embroidery and you have a beautiful flower garden.  You’ll even learn the new MINI version.  Come see Carol’s new Folded Fabric Flower quilt on display in the shop.  It is beautiful!
