March 3, 2010

Greetings Everyone

We had a great time meeting everyone at Sew Expo this past week but are we exhausted!  It was so much fun to talk with some of our long distance and out-of-state customers who come for the show.  Everyone that came through seemed to be excited about new projects in the works or ideas for future ones they had planned.  It's really encouraging to see folks inspired and upbeat about their craft again.

NEW FABRICS

We've received several prints in Kona Bay's
Nobu Fujiyama Textile Pearls of Japan collection.  These include two stunning panels.  One has a snow covered Mt. Fuji with pines in a grey or blue colorway.  The other is a grouping of geishas in either a black or green colorway.  In both these panels, you get two designs side by side.  A great value, you can make one wall hanging for yourself and one for a friend.

Sashiko lovers will be happy to know we now have a thinner weight sashiko thread.  The new thread is similar to an 8 pearl cotton, comes in 18 solid colors plus a wonderful rainbow color with a short color repeat.

You might also want to give these new Sashiko needles a try.  These are my now favorite Sashiko needles.  Designed by Pepper Cory and made in England, these needles are extra fine, very smooth and very sharp.
