JAPANESE FAMILY CRESTS
Adapted from a book on Japanese Family Crests, the designs have been slightly altered to make them more "appliqué friendly". Most are relatively quick to make and a great way to use those fabulous Asian fabrics. Individual blocks can be used as small wall hangings, pillows, garment embellishment, or you can even combine several for a larger quilt. Each pattern has horizontal and vertical center lines to assist in placement of the full sized and numbered pattern on the background fabric. Step by step instructions describe the basted needle-turn method for appliqué, the most portable appliqué technique.
