DRAGONS KEEP
(imported from Australia)
$ 22.95

25 1/2" x 35"
(65m x 89m)

This handsome dragon was stitched with the needle-turn Appliqué Technique, but it would also look great using other forms of appliqué.

The full size appliqué pattern includes full instructions for the needle-turn appliqué Technique with optional embroidery embellishments.

To highlight the different segments of the dragons back, small glass seed beads, sequins or French knots can be added.  Using a golden thread fly stitch embroidery was added down the dragons wings in between the different segments.  And, using green stranded embroidery cotton, fly stitch was also added down the castle walls to suggest a climbing vine.  This pattern also contains easy quilting lines that were added in the background, to suggest clouds, and other castle turrets and buildings.

DRAGON FIRES - $ 22.95
(imported from Australia)

25 1/2" x 33 1/2"
(65m x 85m)

This beautiful dragon is stitched using needle-turn appliqué (full instructions are included for that method) but it would also look great using other forms of Appliqué.  A full size pattern is enclosed.

To embellish the dragon, a sprinkling of glass seed beads, sequins, and French knots was added down his back.  More embroidery touches were added, such as a chevron on his tail, and fly stitch down the joins in the segments of the wings.  Special touches were also added in the quilting, such as extra flame shapes, and an all-over stippling, which really made the dragon appear to fly out of the finished picture.

The dragon shown is done is shades of purple and green with a firey yellow background.  Copy our coloring if you wish, but no one knows what color a dragon really is so the choice is yours.  Imagine a blue dragon with silvery wings against a dark night sky or a burning orange and brown dragon against a vivid blue sky.
