embroidery embellishment ideas.
Dragons are fantasy creatures or at least they existed
so long ago that no one knows for sure what colors they really were, so
don't be limited by the choice of colors shown in our samples.

To highlight the different segments of the dragons back,
small glass seed beads, sequins or French knots can be added. Using a
golden thread fly stitch embroidery was added down the dragons wings in
between the different segments. And, using green stranded embroidery
cotton, fly stitch was also added down the castle walls to suggest a
climbing vine. This pattern also contains easy quilting lines that were
added in the background, to suggest clouds, and other castle turrets and

stitched using needle-turn appliqué (full instructions are included for
that method) but it

To embellish the dragon, a sprinkling
of glass seed beads, sequins, and French knots was added down his back.
More embroidery touches were added, such as a chevron on his tail, and
fly stitch down the joins in the segments of the wings. Special touches
were also added in the quilting, such as extra flame shapes, and an
all-over stippling, which really made the dragon appear to fly out of the

yellow background. Copy our coloring if you wish, but no one knows
what color a dragon really is so the choice is yours. Imagine a
blue dragon with silvery wings against a dark night sky or a burning
orange and brown dragon against a vivid blue sky.
