To use them as a stamp: Ink the character (use any Tsukineko brand ink with the appropriate surface to be stamped). With the English translation facing you, press the inked chop onto the surface you are decorating. ** Hint ** Place an open phone book or other soft object under the surface you're stamping for best results.

To "Deboss" (Create an image pressed into a surface): Ink the character and place over the leather, metal, wax or other solid impressable surface and tap end of chop with a mallet/hammer to "deboss" the character into the surface. 

These metal chops are also great for pressing into hot glue, wax or melted embossing powder or clay. They can give an authentic look to your Asian stamp art.
