JUNE COLBURN DESIGNING A COLLAGE APPLIQUÉ ART QUILT Friday, September 3 - 2:00 p.m. - 5:00
p.m. This easy technique gives you a fresh way of approaching your fabric stash and designing garments and quilts. Learn how to create a background by fussy-cutting and collaging fabric prints together on a muslin foundation. Add a focal point using a novelty print. Your sampler design will be 18" x 22" - large enough to make a small wall hanging, vest front, tote bag, or pillow top. The class includes a trunk show of June's collages. Students should bring: Small sharp scissors, lots of fine pins. This is a design class only, no rotary cutter, ruler, or sewing machines. Pen or pencil and paper only if you wish to take notes. Students should also bring: 1 fat quarter muslin (or larger, since students can now choose what size project they want to create);
8-10 fabrics in a tight color
story in a variety of prints, batiks, even stripes (solids don't work well for
this technique)--
Students receive a 10% discount on all store purchases the day of the class.
