BATIK
BLOCK OF THE MONTH – JANUARY 2012
Finished Size with Borders 50” x 70”
The Cross Roads to Jericho quilt, made by joining nine patch blocks,
first appeared in Maine in the early 1900’s.
Our featured Batik Block of the Month for 2012, it features bright
and bold batik fabrics with Black Kona Cotton for the accent fabric.
Our finished quilt measures approximately 50” x 70” with a 1”
inner border and a 6” outer border.
You can make it even larger by adding your own batik scrappy
blocks.
Each month you receive enough fabric to make two 10 1/2”
unfinished quilt blocks.
At the end of the year, you’ll have 24 blocks to mix and match to
assemble for your quilt top.
The kit will contain the instructions and enough fabric for two blocks.
In this Block of the Month you will use the same pattern each time
so what could be easier!
At the end of the year, you’ll have 24 blocks to put together in a
beautiful Batik quilt.
Have Fun!
Throw all the finished blocks in a bag, pull them out one at a
time and sew them together in random order.
You can also make one block each month, throw the remaining pieces
in a bag and at the end pull out the pieces and sew them together to make a
very scrappy quilt.
How does it work?
All you pay is a one-time fee of $50.00 when you register which
includes all the block fabrics and printed color instructions each month.
The kits are ready the first Saturday of each month, so you’ll
come back the first Saturday in January to pick up your block kit.
Come back the first Saturday in the following months and you’ll
receive the next block kit.
HOWEVER – You must come in and pick up your own block.
Our goal is to stay in touch with our customers and for our
customers to enjoy working with our fabrics.
Please do not send your husband, wife, neighbor, friend, child or
pet to pick up your block.
If you do not feel you will be able to pick up your own block,
please do not sign up.
What if I can’t come in on the first Saturday?
That’s okay – we’ll hold the kit for you.
We realize that working schedules, illness and vacations sometimes
cause scheduling conflicts.
However, you must pick up your kit by the end of the month
(i.e., the January kit no later than January 31st) unless you
notify us of your special circumstances.
Can I participate in the Block of the Month by mail?
Yes. The cost is a one-time fee of $75.00 for the whole year,
which includes shipping the fabric kits to you each month.
Block Kits are mailed after the first Saturday of the month.
