SUMMER SYMPOSIUM

The first Quilting Symposium sponsored by The Association of Pacific West Quilters (APWQ) will be held
August 12-15, 2010 at Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA.
 

I'll be teaching the following class on Sunday, August 15, 2010.

SASHIKO FUROSHIKI
(18” x 18”)

 

Students will learn how to make a traditional furoshiki (Japanese wrapping cloth) using sashiko stitching techniques.  Different types of sashiko stitches will be taught as well as how to transfer a design to fabric using templates and stencils.  Students will have a variety of design stencils to use during class.

Class kit will includes:  Fabric, sashiko thread, needles, design templates and transfer paper.  Students should bring a 12” ruler, scissors, pen and pencil to class.
